Frum on Beck
I don’t always enjoy David Frum’s columns, but I think he usually is worth reading. I especially appreciate his new “conservative in exile” theme (joining the club with Sullivan and Bartlett), and it’s interesting to get a peek at what he thinks are wrong turns in the modern conservative movement. His new group blog, New Majority, appears to be organized around this “exile” theme, though though many of the other columnists seem like typical partisan ideologues. In any case, here’s a recent column by Frum taking on Glenn Beck and his growing influence.
Update: Greenwald says Frum is wrong, this is nothing new, just the same ol’ same ol’ on the right, whereas via Greenwald, CarolynC at Salon thinks it’s much worse now. Lastly, Adam at Within Reason on the ‘anti-political correctness’ on the right, and how he thinks it has led to where we are now.
